A creative community from all walks of life, under the one roof.

54 Waterloo Street, Surry Hills, Gadigal Country.

’t and ccs’ is a grand plan to transform a salon environment into a hybrid, fully-flexible creative space - part gallery, pop-up, comedy venue, part shopfront, community and co-workspace - that serves the creative, cultural and commercial needs of the ‘t and cc’ community.

Tara Walker and Clare Costello, AKA ‘t and cc’ have run their complementary salon businesses literally side by side for many years. Their collaboration has brought both independent successes and built a vibrant network of clients and creatives.

In a move to a larger and more dynamic space, their business ambitions and that for which they hold for their network - has also grown - culminating in the launch of ’t and cc’s’ - shorthand for ‘Tara and Clare’s space’.

DEUX

23 MARCH - 03 MAY 2024

Definition: of them/about them/two

Deux draws from the core idea of modernism - the world has to be fundamentally rethought. Mitchell and van Dort’s work looks at the dual use of found objects and images, giving a second life to the ordinary and repositioning them as works of art.

Mitchell’s innovation and experimentation with form rejects mass production to champion sustainability. With an emphasis on materials, techniques and processes, she uses all parts of an object whilst maintaining the integrity of the piece. Mitchell’s jewellery, wearable art and objects are handmade from recycled sterling silver, vintage and found objects.

Steeped in symbolism, van Dort’s work begins with collage, choosing images from discarded books to bring together a new image that comments on both political and social agendas. Using the 19th century process of photogravure as well as screenprinting popularised in the 60’s, her current work explores female empowerment and inequality in the 21st century.

Hannah Reilly -

PRAISE KINK

at The Mousetrap Comedy Club

In a desperate bid for relevance and attention, in the messiest section of her twenties, Hannah Reilly (“The Deb”, ABC TV, Triple J) somehow stumbled into a job hosting a sex and relationships show on one of the biggest national radio stations in Australia.

Did anyone close to her think this was a good idea? No. Did she have any qualifications? None whatsoever. Did she get herself into situations from which she or her parents may never fully recover? Absolutely.

PRAISE KINK is for anyone who has ever faked it. A night of songs, stories and unexpected life lessons learned about the bewildering modern age and the human condition. Irreverently interrogating the pressures of our hypersexualized age and the many masks we wear (sometimes rubber) in the messy, clumsy, universal search for human connection.

Don’t miss this brand-new, limited, and intimate series of trial shows from one of Australia’s most exciting comedic voices.
